What Do You Think Of The South? (i Think It’s Wonderful, Honestly!)?

The South is the best part of the country! Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida (well, geographically speaking,) South Carolina, and North Carolina. I don’t believe you can classify Kentucky (I live here), Missouri, Virginia, West Virginia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, or Delaware Southern in any way.
I love the food, great people, hospitality, weather, climate, economy (yes, it’s growing,) educational opportunities (yes, they are aplenty,) culture, history, towns, and so on. I love the beaches of Alabama, the lush rolling hills of Mississippi, the untamed beauty of east Tennessee, the wildflower meadows of Texas, and swamps of Louisiana. I love the atmosphere of Memphis, cosmopolitan feel of Nashville, authentic cultures of Austin and San Antonio, cowtown feel of Fort Worth, and the piney woods of Texas and Arkansas.
How do you feel about the South? I think it’s great. Please, to Yankees: No comments about how barefoot hicks.

There are things I like about it and things I don’t.
I like most of the people, and the real culture there.
I don’t like the “old establishment” way of thinking that
some of the higher socio-economic class seem to have.

well the south has great food and people the weather is way to hot its stay in the 100′s in the spring and summer there is alot of history and towns but that’s ever where you go the beaches is nice to swim in feels soooo goooood!! most of the wildflowers die out because of the heat Austin is a cool place to be a party place indeed so if you love this than that the place to be but if you like me and hate the heat, and flat lands, than its not the place to be

Coming from an a New York raised boy who now lives in TN, the south is pretty dang awesome. The food is great, people have a live and let live mentality here that just astounds. It’s a bit too hot during the summer, but I’m grateful for no more blizzards, unless I’m at Dairy Queen.
My only complaint is that after all the hype about southern hospitality, we have some of the rudest people in the service industry that I’ve ever met. These people need to tilt their noses down to drain the bird poop out of them before they drown in it.

Honestly the people are warm friendly and intelligent, the problem is its just too dang hot, now if all those people would move to the Pacific North west that would be heaven. Long live the south.

Live in Atlanta and do not like the South too much. The lack of public transportation to get to the exciting places requires I drive forever just to get to the beach, the lake, and even downtown.
I enjoyed N.C. and some of Tenn, but those were only for 6-8 week stays.
