Where Should I Go For College, Tulane, Auburn, Ut, Vandy?

Hey yall, I’m a senior and I got acceptances for engineering undergrad schools at Tulane, Auburn, UT, Vandy, and I want to stay with my gf, and I really have no clue where to go, financially i can afford all of them. Tulane, I really like and they have a good BME(biomedical engineering) program, my gf got a scholarship there, but I’m not a big fan of NOLA, and their football team is in CUSA, and they suck. Auburn, I really like, I like alabama, I feel like I would fit in well, i love their football program, but my girlfriend has not had any scholarship offers, and they dont have BME. UT, I’m not a big fan of, but my gf is set on going there, and this is the only school that I cannot afford. Finally, I got accepted from Vandy, but I dont want to stay in Nashville for college, however I do like their program, and they have a football team in the SEC. Any suggestions on where I should go? I also got acceptances from WVU and Georgia Tech.

Time To Call Off The Experiment?

They have tried to stuff hockey down the throats of some American cities without success in an attempt to “grow the game”. Is it time to just accept it for what it is, a Northern sport, and concentrate on making it stronger in the “hockey markets”? With revenue sharing and a cap in place, there are northern cities which could do much better than some of these places they are trying to force feed it to. Accept it for what it is. Just like soccer will never be popular in the U.S like it is in Europe and the rest of the world.
Cut the losses and begin to move on without the Carolina’s, Nashville’s etc?
Maybe not even re-locate all of them- maybe move 2 and retract 4. That would make for less diluted better hockey at the same time.

Would Vanderbilt Be A Good Selection?

I currently live in NC and plan on starting classes at an accredited community college. I have heard that students with a high school diploma can transfer those credits out of state. Is that true?
This answer brings me to my next question. My mother lives in Nashville and may begin working at Vanderbilt University, which would provide a discount if I were to choose to attend the school. However, I can not find out if they have an undergrad Journalism program.

What Are The Charges For This Crime? (please Answer!!)?

What are the charges for this crime?

Metro Police Gang Unit capped the most prolific year in its history by making a series of narcotics trafficking arrests of members from the Crazy White Boys gang.
Six members and associates of the Crazy White Boys gang were arrested last week on drug distribution charges for selling close to 2,000 homemade ecstasy pills and painkillers to undercover Gang Unit detectives.
Arrested as a result of the four-month investigation were Joseph “Swap Shop Joe” Tarre, the alleged leader of the gang, and five other individuals. Also arrested were Tarre’s girlfriend Kellie Applegate, Crazy White Boys members Robert Dailey, Jonathan Bell and Samuel Lusty in addition to Lusty’s girlfriend Amanda Fitih.
Tarre delivered homemade ecstasy pills in quantities up to 500 on four occasions to the undercover detective, police said.
According to Detective Gerry Hyder, this was the first bust of Crazy White Boys members since the Gang Unit was formed in 2004.
Hyder said Crazy White Boys were attached to the street hip hop culture and often used the money earned selling drugs to make music. Swap Shop Joe was a back-up singer for local rapper Haystak, according to Hyder, and had gone on tour with him in the past.
“With anything, you need money to make music, you need money to lay down tracks,” said Hyder, who added that although the Gang Unit was aware of Crazy White Boys, they weren’t suspected of any more violent or gun-related crimes. “A lot of these guys are very smart guys, especially Joe, he’s a smart, business-minded guy. He’s sang on a lot of albums.”
According to police, Crazy White Boys are not a white supremacist group and in fact have some black members in their ranks as well. Hyder said the investigation showed there were two local chapters of the Crazy White Boys. There was the Straight Pits, led by Tarre, and the I4NI group.
Lusty was a member of the latter group and was charged with selling more than 400 painkillers to detectives.
“This investigation shows that gang activity in Nashville transcends race, gender and age groups,” Metro Police Chief Ronal Serpas said. “Our Gang Unit is doing an excellent job behind the scenes monitoring and investigating gang activity in a number of different areas across Davidson County.”
The statistics back up Serpas’s praise. After having their unit doubled in size in 2007 to 12 detectives and two sergeants, the Gang Unit had a record number of arrests (2,359), felony arrests (321) and gun seizures (136).
Hyder said he hoped the Crazy White Boys arrests would earn attention for the fact that suspected drug dealers would no longer be on the streets of Nashville, especially the Hermitage area where Tarre’s group operated.
“I think this should be a case that gets a lot of interest, not because they’re white, but because we have people that were involved in drug activity off the streets,” Hyder said. “We have people that were involved with manufacturing ecstasy pills in a residential area that are not doing that any more.”
How Long do you think this “Joseph Tarre” guy will be in jail??
And any idea of how much bail would be??

What Is Crime Like In Your City? Are You Doing Anything About It?

When I moved to Nashville, little crime flooded the papers. 15 years later, more and more youth are headlining our newspapers and tv news persuant to crime. I would like serious responses to 1) what you feel about the increase of crime in “your” city, 2)how the youth are involved and 3) what “you”, your community and/or leaders are trying to do to change the situation? School is going to be in session in another week. I am preparing myself not only to ‘teach’ the academics that are required, but I HAVE to find ways to get to the heart of our kids -to understand what makes them do what they do? To try and involve parents more in their own children’s lives: academics, etc. When it comes to sports -I see ALL the parents – but I cannot get these same people to come and meet with me when their children are acting out, not going their work, and making life “hard on the yard” for everybody else (bullying). Rather than complain, I am willing to do what I can to change things

I’m Looking To Move Down South. I Need Suggestions And/or Recommendations For Which City To Move To?

Hello,
I am currently a resident of Buffalo, NY. I have about a year and a half of school left (I’m in grad school).
Anyway, 27 years of cold weather, high taxes, and a stangnant local economy have convinced me that I want to move to a southern city when I graduate. I have neve been down south nor do I know anyone who lives there, so it will certainly be a big life change, but it’s something I really want to do.
Here’s a list of cities that I’ve heard some good things about:
Nashville, TN
Memphis, TN
Jackson, MS
Atlanta, GA
Charleston, SC
Columbia, SC
Charlotte, NC
Raleigh, NC
Does anyone have any suggestion or other information for me?
Obviously I’m not going to make a hugh life decision based off of information from Yahoo Answers, I’m just looking for some preliminary inforation from people who are familiar with these cites such as crime rates, how the people are, how the local economy is, etc.
Thank you all very much!!!
